PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Bill Cameron announced Thursday that, “Three teens arrested by our detectives may be responsible for 24 burglaries to churches, homes, vehicles and businesses. The trio was involved in a two week crime spree in January, in an area east of Punta Gorda. All three have extensive criminal records and are now in custody. Detectives are still looking to file more charges as their investigation continues.”
Those arrested are all from Punta Gorda. Jeremy Cole Jackson, 18, of 4615 LaGroce Drive; Nathanial Davis Kruger, 19, of 4325 Knollwood Drive; and a 17-year-old of Alta Vista Drive were arrested. Jackson remains in the Charlotte County Jail on $57,000 bond; Kruger is also being held on $31,500 bond; the 17-year-old is in the Department of Juvenile Justice center in Fort Myers for 21 days. He has been booked into the County Jail 21 times, Jackson 19 times, and Kruger 16 times.
Detectives have not completed a total dollar figure on the two dozen burglaries, but say it would amount into the “tens of thousands of dollars.” The cases involve stolen vehicles, weapons, electronics, cash, and extensive damages in some cases.
Sheriff Cameron said, “We believe the burglaries are mostly drug related for money. There could be more charges on other suspects, depending on where the stolen property ends up.”
