CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A pair of Cape Coral Burglars has been sentenced to lengthy prison terms today.

John Coppertino, 33, of Cape Coral, who was arrested by Cape Coral Police Detectives in June of 2011, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Trevor Turner, 30, of Cape Coral, who was arrested by Cape Coral Police Detectives in May of 2011, was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by five years of probation.

The pair was responsible for dozens of home break-ins in 2011 before they were caught by Cape Coral Police. Thousands of dollars worth of property was stolen by the thieves, a lot of which was later returned to the victims.

“Our Officers, Detectives and Forensics Personnel work very hard each and every day for victims of crime. Their mission to arrest the criminals is only half of the battle. Preparing solid cases and working with the Prosecutors at the State Attorney’s Office ensures that the other half of the battle is won, securing convictions and putting criminals in prison,” said Lieutenant Tony Sizemore.
