COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Some Collier County voters will vote whether or not they want the county to take out a loan to pay for landscaping along Radio Road.
Those who live in the MTSU between Santa Barbara and Davis Boulevard already voted to approve a tax increase to pay for an irrigation system and the planting of trees along the roadway.
A referendum on Tuesday's ballot lets them decide if they want it sooner or later.
Voters will decide if the county should take out a loan and start work as early as this summer or wait 5 years for the tax revenue to accumulate.
If residents vote "yes," they will end up paying more because of the interest on the loan.
"If they're going to be normally paying $30 to accumulate the funds they need, they might be paying $35 or $37. It will be almost negligible what the additional cost will be in the carrying charge," Collier County Commission Vice Chair Jim Coletta said.
