FORT MYERS, Fla. - A grand jury has indicted Jeffrey R. Green, 48, the owner of Gulf Coast Medical Pharmacy, and Karen S. Hebble, 42, both of Fort Myers, with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute Oxycodone.
The Department of Justice says that if convicted, Green and Hebble each face a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
The United States intends to forfeit approximately $1.9 million seized from six bank accounts, a residence located in Cape Coral, Florida, a State of Florida Pharmacy technician license, and two DEA Registrations, which are all alleged to be traceable to proceeds of the offense or property used to commit or facilitate the offense.
According to court documents, from at least July 1, 2010 through October 6, 2011, Green and Hebble conspired with each other and with others to possess with the intent to distribute Oxycodone. Green, the owner of the pharmacy, though not a licensed pharmacist, allegedly filled prescriptions for Oxycodone after hours. Hebble was the manager of the pharmacy.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed a violation of the federal criminal laws, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
