PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - Police say a 30-year-old man with three previous DUI convictions is accused of driving impaired while speeding away from authorities with unrestrained children in his vehicle.
Randy Schaub remained in the Pinellas County Jail without bond early Thursday. He was on felony probation when Pinellas Park police arrested him Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses told police they saw two children trying to wake up a sleeping man in a minivan. Police say Schaub woke up, started driving and ran a stop sign before he was pulled over.
Authorities say Schaub refused a sobriety test, but had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
Records show Schaub was arrested for DUI in 1998, 2001 and 2003 and his license was revoked for 10 years in 2003. No attorney for Schaub was listed on jail records.
