Life after Live has been busy for Regis, 80. His last show was November 18. “I’ve enjoyed it a lot. After 28 years of going to the same room, the same building, the same Gelman, it’s kind of nice to relax.”
Although Regis admits he’s had little time to relax. He immediately went on the road promoting his new book. “Each story in there is of someone I knew and met in my life or had an influence on me. There’s a lesson to be learned and so we put the takeaway right after the chapter itself and so I think people have a lot to learn. I’m still in the learning stage,” Regis said.
For some fans, meeting Regis was a dream come true. Hays says, “I would go to the ends of the earth to see Regis.”
Linda Caplan, General Manager of Books-A-Million says, “It brings people in, it really helps tremendously. They buy the books, they come in, they use our café. It puts a great boost on the business.”
Toni Schnatter was the first in line at the book signing and will see him again Thursday night at the Philharmonic. “I think Regis Philbin is phenomenal. I love him, I adore him, he’s just an unbelievable man.”
