PORT ORANGE, Fla. (AP) - The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 are closed following a crash involving three tractor-trailers and a passenger vehicle. One person is confirmed dead.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened about 3:25 a.m. Thursday near Port Orange in Volusia County. All lanes of the interstate were briefly closed following the fiery crash that involved at least three tractor-trailers and one car.
FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes says a mail truck, a log truck and a truck carrying some kind of chemical were involved. The other vehicle had three people inside. The driver of the chemical truck was killed. She says the remaining injuries range from minor to serious.
Montes says traffic homicide officers have not yet reached the scene.
Traffic is being diverted onto State Road 44.
