PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives continue their investigation today into a Christmas morning stabbing around 12:50 a.m. in front of Caribbean Grocery, 2745 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte.
Witnesses told detectives that a party inside was winding down and there was an argument outside between two men that escalated into a physical altercation. Witnesses said the argument resulted in a stabbing in the abdomen of Sean A. Mitland, 42, of North Port. Charlotte County Fire/EMS transported Mitland to Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Center.
