PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- The Charlotte County Commission voted today to dip into their rainy day fund to try to lure two businesses to the county.

Just over half a million dollars will be set aside as stimulus funds for the companies. The two manufacturers, which remain unnamed due to confidentiality agreements, could each bring up to 100 jobs to the county.

The companies would not be eligible to collect on any stimulus funds until contracts are signed, the companies are operating and workers are hired.
