LEE COUNTY, Fla.- On a closed circuit television, Znap Vmon made his first appearance before a Lee County judge on second degree murder charges in his neighbor's death.
41 year-old Deane Woods was discovered stabbed to death Saturday morning inside Vmon's home.
We found out this isn't the first time Vmon has been behind bars.
He did a seventy month stint in federal prison for a 2003 fraud case.. after he was convicted of lying to a firearms dealer to buy a weapon.
At that point he hadn't been going by the name Znap Vmon for very long... about 15 years ago he chose that name and legally changed it from his birth name.. Russell Slack.
Slack has charges dating all the way back to 1977.. including three DUIs, battery on a senior, wreckless endangerment, drug charges and larceny.
For his latest charge of second degree murder, Vmon will stay in the Lee County jail unless he meets the half-million dollar bond set Sunday.
If that happens, he will be required to hand over any fire arms and not to drink alcohol until he goes before a judge for his next hearing.
