LEE COUNTY, Fla. - A welcome home celebration for a southwest Florida soldier, and his soon to be bride. They're getting married on Friday at no cost to their families. It's all thanks to Operation Open Arms.
A welcome home celebration for Gabriel Lopez and Caitlin Holloway as the couple arrived from Seattle.
They're highschool sweethearts, meeting at Ida Baker, its been love ever since.
Lopez has been serving as a sergeant the Army in Afghanistan, already deployed for a year.
His bride to be met the founder of Operation Open Arms, Capt. John "GiddyUp" Bunch, while working as a cashier at Publix.
He offered to give the couple a full blown wedding, the cost, an estimated $20,000.
"They provide the venue for the wedding, they provide the photographer, the wedding cake the flowers the cater, the reception for up to 20 people," said Lisa Benton, with Operation Open Arms.
This will be the 90th free wedding the organzation has put together.
Lopez will return to serve in Afghanistan next March.
