PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Port Charlotte burglar after his fingerprints matched those of a man who has seven bookings into the County Jail. Arrested for Armed Burglary and Grand Theft wasIsrael Raphael Ortiz, 21, 3252 Easy Street.

CCSO received a call Monday from the owner of a home at 2392 Staver Street. He said when he returned home items were stolen after forcible entry was gained. Stolen was a revolver, 60 boxes of ammunition, three rifle cases, a television, cell phone, video recorder, and digital camera valued at $2,030. Deputies arrived and called the Crime Scene Unit; they found fingerprints on a rear bedroom window. A positive match was made with Ortiz fingerprints on file in the AFIS system.

Deputies located Oritz in the 22000 block of Olean Boulevard in Port Charlotte late Tuesday and transported him to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on $27,500 bond.
