Several local organizations are falling short of food donations for this year's holiday.

Charlotte County Homeless Coalition is stocked with turkeys, but the agency is still in need of canned and dried side items for Thanksgiving baskets.

The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties says they've received enough turkeys to feed the 500 people expected at their annual Thanksgiving meal. They're still in desperate need of side items like green beans, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes.

Saint Matthew's House in Naples handed out more than 15,000 turkey dinners last year. They're expecting even more this year and only have 1,000 turkeys so far.

Nations Association Charities on Palm Beach Boulevard in Fort Myers has received about 2,000 turkeys. They still need about 500 turkeys to meet their goal of 2,500 turkeys.
