ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Wildlife officials in central Florida rescued an orphaned baby manatee from Sebastian Inlet.
The manatee was taken to SeaWorld Orlando where it is scheduled for a number of tests on Thursday. Park officials say the baby is between three and six months old and is swimming on its own.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://thesent.nl/vg4bdd ) reports that animal experts from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission don't know why the baby was orphaned.
SeaWorld's animal rescue team worked with wildlife officials to rescue the calf on Wednesday.
