FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- The shoreline along Fort Myers Beach is transformed in to a gallery of sorts. The works of art on display are made entirely out of sand! It may feel like deja vu since just two weeks ago Fort Myers Beach played host to the 25th Annual American Sandsculpting Competition. And for the next ten days, for the first time ever, the beach will be the site of the Sandsculpting World Championship.

It's a money-making opportunity local businesses won't let slip through their fingers. It's a huge event that's expected to rake in big business for the beach.

As many as 140,000 people are expected to fill the beach over the next 11 days to check out the work of 24 master sculptors from 20 different countries all competing for the title at the 25th Annual Sandsculpting World Championship.

With two competitions just weeks apart, it's becoming clear Fort Myers Beach is among the sandsculpting capitals of the world.

The competition runs through this Sunday, but you'll have an extra week to come check out all the sculptures. They'll be on exhibit until the 27th.

Parking is limited by the Holiday Inn, so event organizers ask you to park at Lover's Key and then take a free shuttle ride to the beach.
