CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla, - Five homes have caught fire in 24 hours in Charlotte County.

This morning at 7:12 a.m., Charlotte County Fire/EMS responded to the report of a residential structure fire located at 29241 Tomayo Drive in Punta Gorda.  Arriving on scene, fire crews found a residential trailer home fire fully involved.  Primary search revealed no occupants were inside the home.  As firefighters were in the process of extinguishing the fire on Tomayo Drive another fire was reported in the area of 1177 Layfayette Street, Punta Gorda.  Additional fire crews were dispatched to the 2nd location.  

Fires were extinguished and the State Fire Marshal was requested to both fire scenes for investigation. 

At this time there are no reports of any injuries due to these fires.  The cause of these two fire, as well as the fires on Friday, in the same area, are under investigation.  

If anybody in that area sees any suspicious activity, they should call 911 immediately.
