LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Zuriel Orakwe is a bundle of joy with a big birthday.
The 8 pound, 4 ounce wide-eyed child was due November 8th. But the little one came late, choosing to make his debut on 11-11-11.
"It's a cool thing. I told him he's a blessed boy. He's very blessed. He's a unique boy. So I guess that's why God had him to be born on that day," mother Nike Orakwe said Friday.
New father Magnus Orakwe says he called it.
"I was filling out forms for him, and I kept on making the same mistake. I'm supposed to write 8, which is the due date. But I kept on writing 11-11," Magnus said Friday.
Turns out, dad was right. His baby boy arrived at 2:50 AM on Friday morning.
"It's just one-in-a-million. I'm glad to be attached to that one-in-a-million," Magnus smiled.
Already, Zuriel's parents say his good luck is rubbing off, with family as far away as Africa flooding their phone lines with well wishes.
But it's love, not luck that really has the first-time parents smiling.
"I can't explain it. It's hard to explain the joy that fills your heart," Nike said.
Baby Zuriel was the first baby born at Lee Memorial's HealthPark on 11-11-11.
