FORT MYERS, Fla. - Authorities have re-opened the southbound lanes of I-75 at Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers after nearly four hours of delays and shutdowns.

Deputies say the crash involved an overturned semi truck and a car.

According to FHP, the tractor trailer rear-ended the car twice as it tried to merge from the middle lane to the right lane of the highway. The car was pushed onto the shoulder, and the tractor trailer turned onto its side.

Both drivers had to be cut out of their vehicles and medflighted to Lee Memorial Hospital. Authorities say they are in serious condition.

Traffic is being diverted from southbound I-75 at Daniels Parkway. Southbound traffic is exiting at Daniels Parkway and can re-enter I-75 on the southbound Daniels on ramp.
