CAPE CORAL, Fla. - On Thursday, November 3rd at approximately 7pm, Cape Coral Police were conducting area searches and canvassing the neighborhoods off of Old Burnt Store Road regarding the James Arthur missing person investigation.

Near the 200 Block of Old Burnt Store Road an officer asked a citizen if they had any information regarding the disappearance of Arthur. The citizen told the officer that they noticed a strong odor in the area recently.

Officers then began searching on foot and discovered a deceased male approximately 80 yards off of the roadway in the 200 Block of Old Burnt Store Road.

The body is believed to be that of James Arthur however police cannot say with 100% certainty. The male, however is wearing clothing consistent with that worn by James Arthur the last day he was seen alive.

Detectives will be processing the scene and will be working with the Lee County Medical Examiner's Office to determine a cause of death.

CCPD Detectives are now in Chicago interviewing Garrett Kern.
