LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A Lee County teacher is accused of driving to work drunk and crashing into another car in the Dunbar Middle School parking lot.

30-year school district veteran Christine Murgueytio appeared in court Friday morning, facing charges for allegedly driving to school drunk.

The 62-year old Exceptional Education teacher slammed her Kia SUV into a stopped car in the Dunbar Middle School teacher parking lot Thursday morning.

She says she swung into the spot too wide, but a School Resource Officer says he "observed Murgueytio swaying/stumbling and that her speech was thick tongued", according to a report from the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called in and conducted four field sobriety tests, all of which she failed.

During a search of Murgueytio's car, deputies made another disturbing discovery. According to a Sheriff's report, deputies found "two opened and empty cans of Bud Light beer located in her lunchbox."

She was arrested, but later released on pre-trial supervision by a judge Friday morning.

This marks Murgueytio's third DUI during her time at the Lee County School District.

WINK News tried contacting her after she was released from the Lee County Jail, but our efforts were unsuccessful.

Murgueytio's being placed on paid administrative leave with the School District, pending the results of their investigation.

She also teaches at Lehigh Acres Middle School.
