NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - Pasco County narcotics investigators say they've busted two drug rings responsible for the sale and distribution of thousands of pain pills.

Sheriff's officials announced Friday that the investigation has led to federal indictments against 28 people. Some 64 more have been charged at the state level.

Charges against the defendants range from doctor shopping and presenting fraudulent prescriptions to possession of prescription drugs and trafficking.

Detectives say the two organizations combined to move more than 400,000 oxycodone pills valued at $4 million in Florida and three times that amount in Tennessee and Kentucky.
