CAPE CORAL, Fla.- The search continues for a missing Cape Coral man. Jim Arthur, 80, disappeared last Thursday. His stepson, Garrett Kern, is a person of interest in Arthur's disappearance. Currently, a volunteer search is under way along Burnt Store Road in Cape Coral.

The volunteers met at the Texaco gas station. People were put into several teams and then they hit the road, looking for any signs of Jim Arthur. About fifty people were sifting through shrubs, long grass and looking in canals. They are stopping at nearly every street or dirt road along Burnt Store Road, between Tropicana Parkway all the way to the Charlotte County line.

Some volunteers are also searching along Santa Barbara Boulevard near Hustlers. That's the last place Kern was seen in the Cape. The Arthur family says they are focusing on this particular area because when Kern left the area in Arthur's car. He most likely would have taken this route.

Despite several searching for several hours, volunteers didn't find anything.

Texas Equusearch is being called in to help.

They will arrive on Friday and begin searching Saturday.

The volunteer search scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled.
