CAPE CORAL, Fla.- WGN-TV has reported that Garrett Kern has been spotted in the Chicago area.

Kern is a suspect in the disappearence of his stepfather, James Arthur, who hasn't been seen since the day Kern was released from prison last week.

Kern was originally caught on surveillance video in a Lee County bar, boasting to friends that he may have hurt Arthur.

Kern has family in the western suburbs of Chicago and has been spotted a number of times in the city.

Garrett Kern is 23 years old, 5'11 and weighs 135 pounds. He has two tattoos on his upper arms, one of a palm tree with the word "South" under it and the other is of a tribal band. 

Fugitive Hunters out of the Chicago area will pay cash for information that leads to Kern. Their number is 1-888-869-4589 and callers will remain anonymous.
