TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Rick Scott and Florida legislative leaders are meeting the press in Tallahassee.
They are speaking to reporters and editors Wednesday at the annual Associated Press legislative planning session.
The Legislature will convene its yearly session on Jan. 10.
That's two months earlier than usual to make sure redistricting is completed in time for next year's elections.
Wednesday's agenda includes Senate President Mike Haridopolos and House Speaker Dean Cannon, both Republicans.
Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich and House Democratic Leader Ron Saunders are presenting the minority party's viewpoint.
Two of the dozen candidates seeking the Republican U.S. Senate nomination also are speaking.
They are retired Army Col. Mike McCalister and former Ruth's Chris Steak House CEO Craig Miller.
The winner will challenge Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson.
