NAPLES, Fla -- Gator Man Mike and his alligator Baby Bobby are officially full time residents of Tin City in Naples.
Gator Man Mike moved his "Hug & Hold an Alligator" exhibit from the Everglades to Tin City, but not without opposition.
PETA and other groups were against the idea, but with approval by the City Council, Gator Man Mike was able to start offering alligator hugs starting Friday.
"First day in Tin City and we got a few hugs in already today," says Gator Man Mike. "They're smarter than people realize and they love their hugs contrary to what people believe. When you hug this guy he melts right into you because he likes that body heat."
Baby Bobby is five years old and about 35 pounds. You can stop in and get your picture taken with Baby Bobby for $5. They also have smaller gators available for kids to hug.
Gator Man Mike is located inside Tin City next to the candy store.
