ATLANTA (AP) - Cox Media Group says it will restructure operations throughout its newspaper division.

The company, which operates The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, said Thursday it will consolidate different newsroom and business functions at its four largest daily newspapers in Atlanta; Austin, Texas; West Palm Beach, Florida; and Dayton, Ohio.

The company said the changes will result in some positions being eliminated or moved to other locations (http://bit.ly/ssf0rO). Under the plan, an unspecified number of copy desk and page design jobs will be consolidated in Dayton and in West Palm Beach.

The company noted most large newspapers have been hit by revenue and circulation declines and other newspaper chains have made similar changes.

Cox Media Group is a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises and also owns 15 TV and 86 radio stations.
