NAPLES, Fla.- Nearly a dozen chihuahuas in Naples are in need of a new home.
The dogs were surrendered a few weeks ago by an East Naples woman and have been staying at Collier County Domestic Animal Services.
The dogs range in age from three months to three years.
Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., D.A.S. is holding a special adoption for the chihuahua's.
"They're different dogs, not used to everyday normal activities. The owner rarely had guests, so we're looking for an owner that can be patient, loving that's the kind of home they need," said Daniel Christenbury of D.A.S.
They would prefer to give the dogs away in pairs, but will allow people to adopt just one. They will be adopted on a first come first serve basis. If there is a big demand, they will have a lottery instead.
