NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Southwest Florida is mopping up from last night's severe weather. Some are dealing with flooding, others are picking up the pieces from tornado damage.

The good news is, flooding is receding in some areas, according to Bayshore Fire Chief Larry Nisbet. But emergency management is still keeping an eye on the area of Palm Creek Drive and Deal Road in North Fort Myers.

Nisbet said there was only one report of a home flooded. He said they are seeing sheet flow, but nothing like what they had last year, likely the result of a county improvement project at the Pop Ash Creek Preserve, which created retention ponds and opened up tributaries, helping water flow south to the river.
