FORT MYERS, Fla.- The heaviest rainfall has come to an end but not before causing flooding issues across Southwest Florida. Rainfall totals across Lee and Collier County ranged from 2 to 7 inches.

The National Weather Service will be surveying damage in Glades County where a confirmed tornado caused damage to nearly 40 homes in Lakeport. A Tornado Warning had been issued for the storm that pushed through around 7:15 Tuesday evening. The tornade hit at 7:25 p.m.

There were reports of two other possible tornadoes in Indian River and Broward Counties Tuesday evening.

The storm system that produced the severe weather on Tuesday will move out of the area today. Cooler and less humid weather will settle in for the remainder of the week.
