PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Port Charlotte man on 14 felony charges for stealing $7,575 in assorted jewelry items over a period of time from Beall’s Department Store at Town Center Mall, and then pawning them.

Detectives said Michael Lee Sills, 20, stole a total of 149 silver bracelets, earrings, necklaces, chains, earrings. He was arrested September 8th when he was caught stealing and pawning some of the items and remained in the Charlotte County Jail.

Detectives continued their investigation and obtained evidence that he pawned a total of 58 silver items on three different dates at Charlotte Jewelry & Watch Repair, 1931 Tamiami Trail. He also pawned a total of 91 silver items at Tim’s Pawn Shop, 2395 Tamiami Trail, on four dates from June to September. Detectives obtained all the transaction documents Sills signed that included his thumbprint.

CCSO detectives went to the County Jail and advised Sills of the new additional charges. He remains in jail without bond.
