FORT MYERS, Fla.- Two county employees were in court this morning. William Prussman and Randall Feinstein are accused of planting a fake bomb at county-owned gas pumps on September 8th, just days before the 10th anniversary of 9-11.

Prussman is a supervisor at the Lee County fleet facility, and Feinstein's been with the county over 20 years.

Attorneys for the two men, say this was a practical joke, gone terribly wrong.

"These guys are 60, 65 years old. No criminal records, good families, good citizens. They've gotten awards from the county. It was like I told the judge, there's no fool like an old fool," said Wilbur Smith, attorney to Prussman.

Lee County Sheriff's Office says Prussman and Feinstein didn't come forward, as deputies evacuated and searched the Fleet facility for the hoax bomb back in September.

Both men are being placed on administrative leave.
