FORT MYERS, Fla.- The annual Walkathon and white cane day will be held October 15th at 9.am at Lakes Park.

At the entrance of Lakes Park, volunteers will be walking across the eight lanes of traffic on Gladiolas with visually impaired glasses to realize what a visually impaired person of Lee County encounters every day. 

A patrol person will be on hand for safety purposes. 

The calendar girls will be performing and Commissioner Ray Judah will be leading the walk around the lake. 

The purpose of the event is to raise funds that will assist the agencies that work with the visually impaired of Lee County.
