NAPLES, Fla.- A hit and run accident has left one pedestrian in Collier County dead Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred on the corner of Pine Ridge Road and Shirley Road, where a black Porsche S.U.V. slammed into a man holding a sign advertising a local business, and then sped off.

The driver, 27-year-old Etem Alajbegu, was stopped a few blocks away and is now facing felony D.U.I. charges.

The victim, identified as 49-year-old Steve Duzick, was airlifted by Medflight to Lee Memorial where he later died.

Duzick was well known in the community for being a sign holder for Black Eyed Pig BBQ, Providence Jewelers and Great Clips.
