TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is returning fire over President Barack Obama's claim that he is a warrior for the middle class.
Romney, making brief remarks Wednesday at a Tallahassee restaurant, maintained that everything the president has done since taking office has hurt the middle class.
The former Massachusetts governor also found time to sample food at the Seminole Wind restaurant, which features a Southern buffet and pictures of Jesus Christ along its walls. Romney ate fried chicken, vegetables and a little bit of the barbecue.
After shaking hands with patrons, Romney held a brief roundtable discussion with local business owners about what kind of help they need.
Romney during the afternoon held closed-door meetings with GOP leaders, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
