FORT MYERS, Fla.- An anonymous tip to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers has resulted in the arrest of Hector Benitez. He was arrested at 2:38 p.m. today at Ebson Lane and Bahia Drive in the Suncoast neighborhood of North Fort Myers.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in a home invasion robbery involving a firearm. Deputies need to speak with Hector Benitez, 37, regarding his role in the incident.
On October 3, 2011, shortly after 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance at 450 Figuera Avenue, Fort Myers. Upon arrival, deputies came into contact with the victim. She had been at the home visiting with friends when a man entered the home with a gun and pointed it at the victim. He then took the victim’s purse and fled from the scene.
Responding deputies quickly set up a perimeter but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect who was later identified as Benitez. No injuries were sustained during the incident.
