FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Each day, 100,000 sharks are killed worldwide.  An international group is working with local marinas to help them become shark free.

Salty Sam's on Fort Myers Beach is joining the Shark-Free Marina Initiative to help reduce worldwide shark mortality.

A shark-free marina doesn't allow sharks to be killed and brought back to their facility.

"We tell them go out and fish, have a great time, but if you catch and release the sharks, it's the best thing for our environment," said Gleeann Aguis, with Salty Sam's.
