PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area woman was charged with driving under the influence after authorities say she crashed into a Tarpon Springs police cruiser.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that 44-year-old Monica E. McClure was driving on U.S. 19 last week when she made an illegal turn into the path of the police officer. The patrol car hit McClure's SUV, causing it to flip. McClure, her passenger and the officer were injured in the crash.
The St. Petersburg Times reports that McClure refused a breath test, but a state trooper noted signs of intoxication. She was charged after being released from the hospital.
Records show McClure remained in Pinellas County Jail without bail set. She had already been out on bail from another DUI arrest in March.
