LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Two firefighters were hospitalized overnight after their fire truck hit a tree in South Fort Myers. It happened just after 3:00 a.m. near Banner Drive and Halifax Avenue. That's near Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

We're told the driver of the truck had a medical emergency and passed out while the crew of three were on a routine call. The driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital.

Our partners at the News-Press are reporting the passenger has been released. The driver remains hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
