NAPLES, Fla.- Rehabilitation patients at NCH downtown hospital in Naples will soon have a new place to recover.

The new 54 bed facility is located at the north Naples campus. It has a large gym and a teaching apartment and bathroom for brain-injury patients.

The center is about the same size as the downtown space, but officials say the additional amenities will allow them to help patients recover faster.

"There's always been this dream to create a freestanding rehab hospital as part of the NCH healthcare systems. We started planning for this about a year ago as part of a facility master plan," said Administrative Director Heather Baker.

The 50 rooms in the downtown location will be turned into private rooms for hospital patients.
