PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives arrested two Port Charlotte drug dealers who sold Methadone and Roxicodone to undercover operatives Monday. Arrested were Anthony David Ford, 29, 18275 Cortland Ave., and Ashley Mae-Marie Harper, 25, 2142 Tinker Street, following the drug purchase around 1:30 p.m. in Port Charlotte.

Once the transaction was completed, Narcotics detectives, assisted by Criminal Investigations detectives and Road Patrol deputies, moved in and made the arrests. A search of Harper’s purse located a spoon with opiate powder. Also found in Ford’s black 2006 Infinity were five $20 bills and a pill bottle labeled for Methadone pills to Ford.

Ford and Harper were also involved in the sale of Roxicodone pills to undercover detectives on Sep. 15. The second drug purchase Monday resulted in their arrest. Both were charged with Sale and Delivery of Methadone, Possession of Methadone, Sale and Delivery of Roxicodone, and Possession of Roxicodone. Harper was additionally charged with Possession of Opiates. Ford was additionally charged with two felony charges of being a Habitual Traffic Offender for driving both times without a driver’s license.

Both were transported to the Charlotte County Jail; Harper remains in jail on $30,000 bond. Ford remains in jail on no bond; he’s a twice convicted felon with 23 bookings and 45 records.
