FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Friday around 8:45 p.m., the Fort Myers Police Department said they received a frantic 911 call from a family member saying they had found their loved ones dead inside a home on East River Drive in Fort Myers.

Officers said the man and woman were found inside their home at 4030 East River Drive.  Investigators said the two are believed to be in their late 20's or early 30's.  They both were shot to death.

As of 11:45 p.m. Friday, the neighborhood had been cordoned off as a crime scene and investigators were conducting
a neighborhood canvas.

Investigators are also working to get a search warrant for the investigation.  They believe the shootings happened sometime in the last 24 to 48 hours.

"We have very good information from the neighbors.  We're conducting a neighborhood canvas pretty much from Edgewood all the way down in both directions and we've gotten really good information from several neighbors there maybe some suspicious activity that they saw, that might help us out quite a bit," said Lt. Jay Rodriguez, Fort Myers Police Department.
