PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics detectives, assisted by the Street Crimes Unit, arrested two Port Charlotte men following an undercover marijuana drug buy Thursday. Arrested wereJerome “Rommie” Hamm, 45, andElijah Bronsfield, 47, both of 21560 Kenyon Avenue.

Narcotics detectives said Hamm, the driver of a black Nissan Titan pickup, and Bronsfield, drove up to an undercover vehicle across from 3500 Tamiami Trail at 7:45 p.m. They exchanged 17.8 grams of marijuana for $100 and were arrested. A search of the pickup located an additional 11 grams of marijuana in a plastic baggie.

Both were transported to the Charlotte County Jail and each was charged with Sale and Delivery of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams, and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. Hamm has 11 prior felony convictions with eight bookings and 16 records; Bronsfield has five prior felony convictions. They both remain in jail on no bond due to their past criminal history.
