CAPE CORAL, Fla.- The Cape Coral Police Department's K-9 unit is undergoing some training Wednesday and WINK News got a special look.

The Cape Coral Police K-9 unit is learning how to work closer with the SWAT team.

The training involves a series of scenarios and is called "SKIDDS," which stands for SWAT and K-9 Interacting During Deployment School, and "CATS," standing for Canine Tactical School.

The training lasts three days and runs about 30 hours.

Some local businesses are also pitching in to help. Autopride donated training equipment such as a new bite suit and Pet Corral donated the training arena, which is for all agencies ranging from Collier to Sarasota and even a few from California and North Carolina.
