LEE COUNTY, Fla.- He was the subject of a nationwide search and Tuesday, Daniel Proctor was in the Lee County jail.
Proctor made his first appearance in front of a Lee County judge. He appeared via closed circuit monitor from the Lee County jail.
Proctor looked disheveled and was wearing a full body suicide protection suit, indicating he's on a suicide watch. The judge ordered Proctor held with no bond for 24 hours, so he can consult with a lawyer.
The charges he's facing stem from outstanding warants in Alabama, so he could be extradited. Though, he's the prime suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, Amy Patterson, Proctor is not being held for that, at least not for now.
Amy Patterson, 41, vanished in July. The Cape Coral teacher hasn't been seen since. Authorities believe she's the victim of a domestic homicide and Proctor is the prime suspect. While in the Lee County jail, he's being questioned about her disappearance.
After Proctor meets with his public defender, he will face the judge Wednesday morning where he will learn more about his possible extradition to Alabama.
