MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a 29-year-old Orlando man who stopped breathing during a Labor Day beach outing with friends.
Melbourne Beach Police Chief Dan Duncan says officers responding to an emergency call at 4:33 on Monday found the man unresponsive on the beach.
They performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator on the man, who was pronounced dead a short time later a hospital.
Duncan told Florida Today that the man had been drinking with friends. Police say the man did not have any known medical conditions.
The man's name has not been released. Duncan says an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
