PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- If you are around Punta Gorda this weekend and you need a place to "bury some pieces of eight," the Pirate Festival at Fisherman's Village might have just what you are looking for.  Avast!  Pirates have invaded Punta Gorda.

This weekend is going to full of fun food and festivities.

The third annual Pirate Festival at Fishermans Village this weekend will have something for everyone, including a kids zone out in the parking lot, plenty of vendors inside and out...and live mermaids!

There will be lemonaide, hamburgers, funnel cakes, steaks, salads, sandwhiches...all of which Punta Gorda is considering "pirate food."

To make this year's event special, the Village hired a professional group to come in and get the poop deck ship shape
A company called Pirates of the Treasure Coast travels over the state of Florida and have come to perform.

These pirates came prepared to put on a show. There will be cannon battles from ship to shore, costume contests, treasure hunts; everywhere you turn this weekend there will be something fun and entertaining.

So weigh anchor, hoist the mizzen and set sail for Punta Gorda this weekend to check out this festival.
