LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Authorities say four people were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital after two trucks crashed head-on on S.R. 31 near Old Bayshore Rd. in North Fort Myers.

Emergency crews on scene say the call came in around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The road was closed shortly after that and re-opened to traffic just before 11 p.m.

According to the Bayshore Fire Dept., firefighters had to extract the victims from their vehicles. One person was flown to the hospital by helicopter, while the remaining were taken by ambulance.

FHP troopers are investigating whether rain was a factor in the accident.
