EASTON, Pa. (AP) - A Florida woman has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the 1985 shotgun death of a Pennsylvania man.
Fifty-six-year-old Lucinda Andrews will serve 10 to 20 years in state prison, the maximum sentence allowed under the law at that time.
Police arrested Andrews last year at her home in Jacksonville, Fla., and charged her in the August 1985 shooting death of 51-year-old John Mayerchak of Allentown. A grand jury charged Andrews after authorities said DNA evidence and a friend's statement linked her to the killing.
Authorities allege that Andrews shot Mayerchak at close range with a shotgun in the bathroom of his Northampton apartment.
