ENGLEWOOD, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office arrested Dustin Lee Saylor, 21, 600 Old Englewood Road in Englewood after his fingerprints matched to a home burglary.

On August 18th, deputies were called to investigate three home burglaries at 214, 216 and 218 Via de Luna in Englewood. The owner of 214 Via de Luna is a seasonal resident from Canada. A friend who was cutting the owners lawn saw the screen had been cut and several jalousie panels removed from the back of the home; a window was found open.

Detectives contacted the owner who said he kept a .22 caliber handgun in the home; the gun was missing. A CCSO Crime Scene Technician located latent fingerprints on a glass panel. The prints were run through AFIX and resulted in a positive match to Saylor. Deputies located Saylor at Inn & Suites on S. McCall Road, Englewood, and arrested him Friday night. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on $15,000 bond. This is Saylor’s sixth booking.

District-1 detectives continue their investigation into the burglary of the two adjacent homes on Via de Luna.
