MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - Four suspects have been charged with robbing and killing an armored truck guard who was making a stop at a Miami casino.
Authorities said Monday the suspects spotted the armored truck in a Walmart parking lot Sunday and allegedly stole a truck so they could follow the vehicle to Calder Casino and Race Course in Miami Gardens.
The guard was shot as he walked out of the casino and later died at a hospital.
Surveillance video shows a man walking toward the casino and then jumping into a truck after the robbery. The truck was later recovered at a nearby hotel.
FBI officials were able to trace the vehicle to the suspects and arrested them without incident.
The suspects are expected to make their first appearance in federal court Monday.
